I've seen it all now!!
**UPDATE **
Just a little update to the following entry, my daughter, our son in law and I took the four grandsons to McD's for lunch, (not my choice of eating places but this was for the kids,) we were in the play area, and sat at a table with a mum and a couple of little kids, they left and left their leftoevers on the tray on our table. A middle age couple joined our table, weird I thought as in the play area and they had no kids. They had milkshake containers full of water. They didn't like the grand kids coming back to the table - but I thought well why sit here with us - it is a play ground. After a little while the man asked my daughter if the tray of left overs was ours, she said no - so they started picking at the chips, then lifted up the packets of chips and finished them!! Not the least bit embarrassed at all! As we left Rachel saw them pick up half eaten ham burgers and start on them!! They certainly did not look under fed, and the assistant at McD's knew their names so got to think this is a regular thing!! Couldn't quite believe it....
I visited Janene today - she is sore! No news yet and poor thing is still on an IV to get the anti biotics into her. Not only that - the cleaners and cooks are on strike and doing a protest down by the car park four floors down. Janene had to wait to eat before taking pain killers and her lunch arrived after 2.00pm. Also popped in and visited Chris as I was at her end of town - good to catch up, now I'm working. A bit late - but that's what happens when you take of from the office for part of the day!
*** UPDATE FINISHED ***
I haven't officially weighed for the past two weeks - so much for my challenge! Life was quite stressful for a while after the power cut and some nights it felt like we were lucky to be sitting down to dinner without worrying how many points in it! Although I find without even trying I'm having more or less the same amount of points a day. Today I tentatively jumped on the scales - dead on 73. So despite lack of exercise and no real tracking, I've kept of the bit I lost earlier in the challenge and I'm happy with that.
We have a house sitter staying here when we go away. Starting to look around and see a few things that need a bit of a spring clean. Yesterday the pantry got hit. Yuk - I found a couple of cans lurking at the back of the top shelf - dating back to 2003!! This was the year I started WW and this is food that I no longer eat or cook with - condensed milk and coconut cream. Reminded me how condensed milk was another downfall food of mine. I would open a can to do some baking, use half the can and gradually eat the rest with a spoon - yum! Then I would also munch on some of the uncooked biscuit mixture. I've forgotten a lot of my old habits - here's a few of those things that I used to pick at - sometimes unconsciously:
Pastry - liked it better than the pie filling!
Crunchy peanut butter!!
Chippies, peanuts or any snack food
WHITE CHOCOLATE!! Grocery shopping I would buy a small cake to eat on the way home.
Hunks of cheese and crackers and then more cheese and crackers.... all while I was cooking dinner, and then I could sit down and say I wasn't really very hungry - wonder why!!
Condensed milk
Uncooked biscuit mixture
Licking cream of the beaters
lots more but just a few that have come to mind...... Some of this I couldn't imagine eating now - but must admit I could still do the cheese, the peanut butter and if I started on white chocolate I wouldn't stop but condensed milk out of the tin - yuk!
LOL Chris H commented was I mad going to aqua classes this time of the year, I am!! It has been a struggle this year to keep going. Yesterday I jumped in and it was freezing, the top couple of inches of water was chilly, icy. I jogged down to the deep end then had to get my shoulders under - Brrrr.... for a split second I feel like I can hardly breathe - but I do have to say I quickly warm up and the cooler temperatures mean I'm working a lot harder. Mad yes - but I still love it! Other years I managed five aqua classes a week right through winter. This year it's so much of a struggle that at the moment I'm doing just the three lunch time classes. There is no way I can face the pool at night, instead I'm in by the fire. Yesterday after the chilly pool I sat in the spa - it was bliss.

When I was younger (a lot younger) we used to have condensed milk on bread and butter. Talk about a sugar hit! I would hate to think what my list is of things I used to eat with gay abandon and no thought. Glad life seems to be returning to normal. Enjoy your books.
Ahhh the spa, forgot about that! It is bliss eh? see you saturday mate!
omg you've made me remember how much I miss baking and why I dont do it much anymore ... way too much temptation for this lil dieter! Oh yeah, I remember some of the things in my pantry ... scarey stuff. Man we must be getting wiser and not wider with age eh?
Agree with you there Anne, cleaned my pantry out the other week...and boy did I find a few surprises that made me stop and think of how much my lifestyle and way of eating had changed..and how I really did need to clean out my pantry, I have been "dieting" for 2 years!!!!
mmmm wish I could get back into aqua, alas no time with me working.....ahhhh for the "lotto life" and retirement!!
Jen xx
Well done on still doing aqua in the winter!
OMG, second hand McD's! Yuck! Were the poor things that starving?!
That is UNBELIEVABLE that those people could do that!! CRAZY!!!!
ewwee .... I'm with Lyn ... that is just wrong!! *nervous giggle*
I'm cleaning my kitchen cupboards while I'm on A/L. Got me wondering what I'll find now.
For the life of me I cannot understand how people can do that sort of thing. It's disgusting. Have they no decency. You should have complained to management. Nobody wants to see that. Bad for business.
Ewwwwwww yuk about the oldies at McD's, surely they could afford their own small fries???? Yuk, yuk, yuk!
