Rushing

Another rushed update - that's what life seems to be full of right now - rushing!! On Sunday we had to do a detailed stock take to get back to the company we work for first thing Monday (by email) Then our internet went down and after spending almost an hour waiting for xtra to answer, it wasn't an xtra problem, they thought it was a problem with our modem. So Monday morning had me on the phone to the firm that supplied the modem, they couldn't help and as based locally asked me to drop the modem in so they could check it. We rely heavily on the internet for our business but had to drop everything and race into town, - no they discovered it was not the modem but thought something was wrong with our computer!! I raced home again and phoned the IT company we deal with and we worked out it was the switch that networks our computers together - so after crawling around the floor and plugging the modem into the back of the computer and bypassing the switch I then had to race back into town with the switch. On the way home I thought I could get the grocery shopping out of the way - and raced around, queued up then..... horrible suspicion that my credit card was sitting on the bench at home (due to daughter borrowing it on Sunday to purchase a swiss ball and DVD on the phone) it was!!!! I unpacked the trolley and went home in disgust!!

My life seems so frantic and last night I thought enough!! Time to sort out a few things - so today I went to WW and told them I just couldn't keep doing the weighing in on the one day a week I do. (I also do one night one which isn't a problem and I'll keep doing it) That will save me almost three hours on one day which doesn't sound a lot but it's a huge chunk when I make a special trip into town. I'm looking at ways to cut a few more corners. I know our business has got a lot busier so what started as a cruisy part time job for me is no longer the case. That's fine as that's what I'm here for but and I need to prioritise and do the important things, work is one and funnily enough is having some me time which is fitting in exercise. Three days a week our daughter works from noon for a couple of hours which is gym or aqua time, which helps there. Not having to race into town on a Tuesday every week is going to be a huge help.

The weekend - what else could you do but snuggle up inside with the fire going!! We watched the rugby Saturday night. We were also babysitting 5 year old Devin and 3 year old Fynn, we read them stories and then put them in the same room knowing they would talk a bit and then (hopefully) doze off. It went quiet so I said to my husband that this was the quickest they had ever gone to sleep - went in later to check and they weren't even in the room!! Here the pair of them were playing very quietly in the room with the toys while we were relaxing with a bottle of wine watching the rugby. They were separated after that! They arrived here Saturday with some lovely flowers for me and chocs for Grandad as a thank you. LOL on Saturday Grandad and the boys had fish and chips ( I planned ahead and had sushi) Devin and Fynn wanted the lights out and the candles lit - so fish and chips by candlelight!!

Silly question but is anyone finding it hard with food intake in this cold weather?? I was so organised with the sushi waiting in the fridge - but who can resist the smell of fish and chips on a cold winter night when faced with cold sushi - not me!! I did restrain but had a handful of chips (you know what it's like - just one more) and the end of a piece of fish. I forgot how the roof of your mouth feels sort of coated in fat after eating them though. Still enjoyed my little indulgence, but really am struggling right now, just seem so hungry. Must get into the point free soup again.

My ankle is heaps better - so I'm almost back into my old routine -time seems to be the factor now - not the ankle.

Brr - it's cold but I haven't been to the gym today so I made the decision to face the cold pool and I better go and get ready!

Catch you later

Good on you for unpacking the trolley - it must have been tempting to just dump it!
We're eating a lot of soup at the moment (not necessarily point free) as it warms you up so well and is easy to reheat to fit everyone's schedules.

You unpacked the trolley?
I know what you are saying about soup with this weather but don't be like me and eat a heap of toast to go with it.........LOL.
Glad to hear you are nearly back to your old routine at the gym.

You are the important one here and yes you need to make life fit around you not u fit around it. Good for you changing things to destress your days and still being able to incorperate your needs.
I had a wee chuckle reading about the grand boys playtime-my Mum would often find me playing in the toy cupboard at 2 in the morning and at 46 I still find that is my time of night I wake and often can't get back to sleep.
We had scrummy home made vege soup last night meal in itself when u load it up with lots of vege...more like a stew and almost cut it ith a knife...and great for next day lunch that being today now it is snowing again hot soup will be just what is needed.
Have a great Wednesday Anne

That supermarket story is almost tragic. What a pain. My friend Liz always says that, when going into a supermarket, she's tempted to grab any loaded trolley from someone on their way out, and leg it to her car. She hardly cares what's in the trolley - it would just be better than having to shop herself. However, the victim of this crime might catch up with Liz as she tried to load her car, so this restrains her...
