Life is settling down a bit

Maybe I shouldn't speak too soon but life seems to be settling down a little for us. At long last the carpet that was laid late last year has been replaced - today. It looks great!! Even though most of the furniture is stacked up in the garage waiting to be put back, it's so good to know that it is done and we can get back to normal. As soon as the first lot of carpet was laid and we noticed the flaws we had to wait for a rep from the company to come and take photos. Meanwhile we more or less realised that we would probably have to get it replaced, so for the past 8-9 months we left quite a lot of bits and pieces in boxes stacked up, rather than filling up storage cupboards and having to pack up again. At long last we can get sorted. It feels good!!!

I have also kept to my plan to get on top of the office work and that also feels good. I've done a couple of sessions at the Diploma course I'm doing and it's not too mind boggling. I was soooo nervous about it all, it will be a challenge, but I also know I'm going to get a lot out of this paper (Computer concepts) I got off to not such a great start as I started a week into the program, then the first class I couldn't use the computer (no log in). So you can understand why I was a bit nervous, but I seem to be getting there.

We took a break this past weekend and went over to the beach with friends - not really beachy weather, but we had a fun time. Saturday was mild and the sea calm, so everyone went walking (except me!! - more about that later) Saturday night after dinner we played Cranium again, - it cracks me up. We all had tears rolling down our faces at different stages of the night - just so funny. Sunday, the weather packed up, horizontal rain and lots of it. The sea was whipped up and quite wild. Love how it changes and how different it looks depending on the weather. We lazed about, had brunch and then headed up (to complete packing the house for today.)

I didn't go walking because once again I'm injured - how? I don't know! MM said I'm getting to be a worry! I started to get jarring pains behind my knee and then the pain is into the calf muscle in my leg, which at one stage was going into little spasms. Friday and over the weekend ít really hurt if I stood up and put my weight on that leg - so I had to try and put all the weight on one leg. Walking doesn't hurt but I wasn't taking any chances. I've rested up and I feel like it is a lot better. So after missing aqua on Friday I'm aiming to go tonight and just watch what I do. I'm a bit fed up at having another injury - but know it would be a lot harder to get over if I was still overweight.

Holiday - well I think we have reached a compromise so to speak - we aren't talking about it! All the packages we looked into that appealed, not one came in anywhere near the price they advertised at. I know there are only so many cheap seats on the flights, but everything was almost double the advertised prices. My choice now would be the Sunshine Coast - MM wants to go down South - I feel like a sunny holiday, so we have a bit of a disagreement going on, well not really a disagreement as we just aren't talking about holidays.

Eating - well after a really good few days, I didn't track over the weekend, just ate healthy, but too much! Wish I could be fully committed again, but it's not happening. Back into it once more.

I'm going as I have a very chatty five year old almost on my knee trying to see what I'm doing (and telling me I type commas to take a breath) and my concentration levels are going.

Glad you have your head back in the right place with home and office. You will need to be organised with the study but I am sure it will be stimnulating and that will flow on to the other things in your life.

I love Cranium too!! I wish Joseph would want to play it more.. but it's not so much fun with only 2 people!

Hope you heal up very quickly!

I have heard so much about Cranium - just gotta find someone who has it and we can play it with!
Hope you injury comes right real soon - you sure do seem to be having a bad run at the moment.
And yay for getting the carpet relaid at long last!

Damn for another injury! I can just imagine what the beach must have been like on Sunday - the only time we ventured outside was for (a very unhealthy) brunch. Today is vile, too.

Bugger about the injury. It sounds like what Mark has at the moment. The Chiro has told him his arches are falling due to the amount of running he is doing and perhaps he will need an orthodic to help him out. He feels all the pain in his knee and then into his calf with the spasms.

I love any sort of board or active game with friends. It's a really great feeling :D
