Wednesday
It was great catching up with the other ‘bloggers’ on Saturday, all thanks to Janene who very kindly gave me a ride there. I think Janene started to doubt my map reading abilities just a little as we headed off into the hills – but we got there! Jorja was such a good little girl and slept most of the way. Some of the others I have met before but this time I got to meet Sue, Rachel and Mandy. Was so good to meet these women face to face. Weird feeling as you recognize them instantly yet have never met before. They are all so inspiring with what they are achieving; I felt I bit out of it here as my exercise is virtually at a bit of a stand still at the moment. I had to laugh at the kids antics; it seemed the café got smaller and the play area larger! Normally when there are kids running around some of them belong to our family but this time I could relax and let the mothers do the running. Rhian was there as well as Mandy and Rachel’s boys. All cute little kids. Sue pointed out in her blog that between the eight women there we have lost 285kg!! Amazing when you look at it like that!
My last few days have been full on – I managed to retrieve and re-enter the work which was a relief. I said how I could relax with the kids on Saturday knowing none belonged to us - but it has been my turn the past couple of days. I offered to help out my daughter and have the boys for a couple of days over the holidays – it has been full on!! Monday was Devin and on his own he was brilliant, I took him to the pool and watched him, then it was his turn and he came to the aqua class and sat on the side line with his colouring book and felts. He lasted right up to the last five minutes and then wandered over asking where he could get a drink, the Manager of the complex was in the background and very kindly took Devin off the gym for a drink out of the fountain. Yesterday it was the two boys and a lot more hectic. MM was supposed to come home and take over last night so I could go to aqua; he was out of town, got held up and never got home until after 8.00pm. During the day we went back to the pool and then I tried to tempt the boys with the idea of the different countries food in the Food Court, I explained how we could try Chinese, Japanese, Turkish etc – they weren’t having any of that. Devin’s reasoning was that he wanted a place that spoke the same language as us – so you guessed it we went off to McD’s. I hate that place!! The queues and then some ‘old’ nana pushed in front of me as she wanted extra sauce or something. The attendants all shouting at each other. I ordered a cappuccino from the café, then went and got the boys their happy meals (but with a pump water bottle,) the boys took off and found a seat and I came back with their meals to find my cappuccino had arrived and somehow the chocolate on top had gaps in it?? Little finger print gaps. I had a horribly soggy deli roll, Devin promptly had his meal and then said he was still hungry! No wonder really, the meals are small but tempting to kids as they get the toys. He had a burger to top up with. They then went off and played and the play area stunk of – well urine, yuk! Next time – well there won’t be a next time there, I’m going to really try and tempt them somewhere different, where the food is not mass produced, where people aren’t pushing and attendants yelling. We came home and they spent time on the bikes here, then coloured in and drew, bath time and bed time. Love it when they are asleep and look so innocent. Their mother was very grateful when she picked up the two boys this morning – oh and she got her promotion too!!
Our other daughter arrives home tonight! Deb and I went around Sunday and made the beds up, and Deb has just dropped off my crock pot with a meal in it in case they are hungry tonight. Who knows with their time clocks, maybe they will be expecting breakfast when they get back!! I will get just some basic groceries in for them as I would think the next couple of days they will be a little tired. Fynn woke this morning and first thing he said was – no more sleeps! His cousin Jordyn is only a few weeks younger and they are good little friends.
This week I intended to catch up on my course work as we are away next week. I also wanted to get the house organized as we have house sitters staying here, and have the office work up to date but so far none of this has happened. Now the boys are home again it will be all go for me.
I finished at physio on Friday, but still not right. My calf muscles are still very tight and achy. I complaining again, but I'm getting a bit fed up with this! The physio treatment was a bit of a torture as the massage was really deep and teeth gritting stuff. Now it’s up to me to keep the stretches going and ease back to where I was. He told me it has just happened gradually and then they got to the stage where I got the pain. I should mention that both calf muscles have been torn, one injury a few years ago was a major tear so I can understand why they are playing up. The deep water aqua is about the only thing that isn’t causing discomfort at the moment. So I’m making sure I’m doing what I’ve been told.
Five sleeps until we go away!! I better get moving....

Was great to catch up with you on Saturday - you are looking great! :) Sounds like you have a busy week before you head away...
Take care and look after yourself :)
It was lovely to meet you but I'm sorry I didn't get to sit down and have a good ole natta, running after two little boys (as you know) is a handful.
Can't wait to do it again!
It will be lovely having your daughter and family back so you can find out what they have been up to.
