Monday

I had a lovely surprise and a bit of a shock on Saturday morning to receive the award at our coffee morning at Chris H's (for my persistance!) I received a lovely mosaic candle holder - thanks! Great taste Chris - I love it!

Yesterday we decided to catch up with my sister, and so we ended up meeting more or less half way. We had lunch at a lovely little cafe at the beach at Foxton. Rachel our daughter came along as well, partly to see my sister and partly to escape her kids for a couple of hours! We all had a really lovely meal. A couple of coffees later and then we had a drive down to the beach afterwards. We were shocked at seeing the sea! I have never seen it so rough. The thought of being out on a boat in that would be scary. Really huge waves and very stormy looking. A lot of water on the roads by the beach as well.

Today - work is dead!! A little unsettling really as we have found not just us but other contractors in other areas are experiencing the same. A down turn in building etc.... If it stays like this for any length of time, I think I will be job hunting as this is boring!! Also I could be out earning money rather than sitting here wondering what to do next. In the meantime I will keep enjoying my freedom while I still have it. I know Peter is enjoying more 'normal' days as when they are busy he is quite often working until 7.00pm - 8.00pm! Our contract is up for renewal in December so we could well see ourselves going in another direction. Our friends suggested why don't we go on a 'working' holiday somewhere for a year. Funny as that is how we met each other! Scary but also exciting to look and think of other options that could be open to us.

Off to the pool, pick up Devin from school, think of what to have for dinner.......

Have a great day!

Oh dear, sympathy about the bulldozers and family worries - but you sound as if you're doing well otherwise. Your family sound lovely and I giggled at the meat loaf story.

congratulations on getting the award on Saturday. Saw the pic on Chris's blog and it looks gorgeous.

Hope things start picking up for you. We had a slump like that a the beginning of the year and now things are going absolute nuts.

Congrats on the award (see the pictures on Chris's blog).

I wouldn't be looking for a job too soon because Murphy's Law is, as soon as you get a job Peter's work will go crazy and you will be inundated with too much work.
Enjoy the quite time while you have it.

As Rachel says enjoy the quiet time while it lasts. Bet once the sun shines for more than 2 days in a row things will pick up. One good thing about where you are is that your outdoor living is away from the road :) Think we were the only ones who didn't go driving to the beach this weekend...LOL Have a good week :)
