Work, work....

Pleased to have a holiday tomorrow as the last two days I've been stuck in the office. End of month, stock takes.... I didn't even get to aqua last night! I'm going tonight even though the weather is not the best, I feel I need it! No hope of me doing eight sessions this week!! We've had a few stressful moments as well. The last lot of tenants we had at the beach house caused no end of problems. We ended up with late night phone calls as they couldn't pick up the key as the shop had shut! Well they arrived there after 10.30pm and hadn't read the instructions about a 'late' key pick up. The home phone number they have given me doesn't exist? (I do have their cell phone number) They aren't in the phone book..... they left on Saturday, next tenants arrived over yesterday to pick up the keys. Where were they? Not at the shop!! So I phoned the cell phone and they answered bright and breezy - "oh we had taken the keys with us" but then added they had realised and had just popped it into a courier pack. Meanwhile back at the shop a young couple were waiting with a young baby. A few phone calls later.... I felt terrible and all I could do was apologise. Peter said he would head over with a spare set - but it is a four hour round trip and when you are self employed quite a chunk out of your day and pay! The family that had taken of with the keys laughed it of on the phone and it was almost like he blamed me. He ended telling me the whole thing was a disaster from start fo finish! Only because they hadn't read the information that was sent. To top it of - they are the only ones not have paid the balance owing before they went!! I doubt we will see it. We handle bookings through a website and I respond with an email and letter - and in eighteen months this is the only lot that couldn't get to grips with what to do! Peter ended up dropping the keys of and then the new tenants went out a bit later - an hour either way for them - all because someone didn't read the instructions!!!!! I sound a bit fed up - but I just can't believe people can be so stupid and then all that follows - are problems!

We child minded Saturday night and added one more grandson to the mix. We took the three of them down to the local beach, they had a swim, played in the sand hills, then we gave them fish and chips on the beach followed by fresh watermelon (LOL so a bit of healthy food thrown in as well). I was prepared and took down a roll for me, but tried a bit of fish, it wasn't that nice so I didn't feel like I missed out on anything! Sunday morning up bright and breezy - not our doing, it was the grandkids. They went home mid morning.

Eating - going well!! Last night we had fish that we had in the freezer, I also made up a selection of roasted veges, peppers, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, onions.... nice and colourful. Peter had some potatoes, I usually don't bother with them as I can take them or leave them. For lunch I've just had a smoked chicken wrap fill of salad goodies. Dinner tonight?? Not sure yet! Water - I'm hopeless on this - I just forget!!

Along with eating better, while I'm probably not losing much - I feeling I've lost that bloated, sluggish feeling after the holidays lapses. Clothes feel just a little looser:-) How I feel is sometimes as important as what the scales are saying. I do the odd little spot check, but will stick to and end of month official weigh in.

Catch you later - back to work!!

Yep I could understand why you are so annoyed at that. Pretty simple system. Friends of ours have a batch down here that they rent out through a website and we (the local dairy) hold the keys for them to swap between tenants and it seems to work for them.

I found when I did wedding stationery it was the one's I had difficulty getting the money out of that were the picky annoying ones.

You are probably lucky this is the first time you have had problems with tenants me thinks! Hope you don't have any more....how we feel is just as important as what the scales say... FOR SURE! I know I am feeling much better since I pulled my finger out!

I caretake an entire apartment building and I feel your frustration. It's never ending - you should see some of the crap I put up with the the stories that I get about why the rent is late. Ha. Take care.

People are so self-centered sometimes. Do not believe they could be any more annoying. Hope you get paid. Enjoy the holiday. Keep up the good work.
