Our Slice of Heaven

OK for those of you that asked -

Our bach is at Castlepoint.
It's rugged, different, and quite unique. It is about 50 minutes from Masterton. Have put in some random photos and you can tell I haven't a clue how to place them - they are all over the place! Help someone!? We couldn't think of a name for the place for ages and ended up with "Slice of Heaven" a bit of Kiwiana there.

just a little quote from a web site I found:
Soft sand, a warm lagoon, a reef with whirling seabirds, hidden caves, fossils… re-live childhood adventure at Castlepoint. Experience the pink glow of dawn across the lighthouse, or wait for the beam to blink into action over a sundowner at the Castlepoint Store. Have a ‘wind in your hair’ walk to Castle Rock for stunning views along the coast. Watch the fishing boats return and the surfers head out. Charter a fishing boat yourself or drop a line from the reef – if all else fails a fish supper from the Whakataki Hotel will have to do!

Could add to that:

Sitting at night with a glass of chilled white wine looking out to sea.

Burying my head in yet another big thick book and just having ''me" time - love it!

Photo 1: View from a couple of sections from our place out to the lighthouse.
Photo 2: Devin on one of our walks
Photo 3: Lighthouse at night.
Photo 4: On the deck looking out to sea.
Photo 5: The 'gap' - (boats go from here out to sea - also a good surfing beach)
Photo 6: the four grandsons looking out to the gap. L-R Jordyn, Fynn, Casey and Devin

Our section is quite high up - from our front lawn we look down on the lighthouse - so the walks are a bit of natural cardio work! I commented the other day to Peter that I love the walks there apart from the walk back up the hill home. His reply - life is not all downhill Anne- must remember that...

Off to the gym this afternoon!!

What a wonderful spot! What magical memories your grandchildren will have of spending weekends with you there. Hope you end up enjoying the gym - I have a similar conscience pricking. Mind you I love the gym - but it's just such a massive rescheduling necessary to get myself there. Have a good week.
Cheers
Z
