Ooops!!

My last entry I wrote that Devin had discovered the laminator. I was so patient and helped him laminate a couple of things, BUT turned my back for a minute and then heard the "Oh no - look Nana!!" It's well and truly stuck. Little darling, I told him off and then felt dreadful as he got a bit teary. That will teach me - I need eyes in the back of my head. I think he has leanred though - don't touch! Then next morning I couldn't find my diary that is beside the computer - I knew he had taken a fancy to that so did a panic but then I found it under the calculator. Not Devin but me this time. So my morning yesterday started with a frantic phone message left for the woman who does my nails - asking what time do I have to be there? Next message was - ignore the first message I found my diary. She must have thought I was mad. I did explain later on when I got my nails done.

I felt a little disloyal last night. One of my aqua friends told me that there was a new instructor at the other pool who everyone was finding really good - so along I went. Our instructor is great - but I think as we have all got to know each other quite well and we get talking and probably don't work as hard as we could. The new class the instructor was out of the water and it was really quite a lot of cardio work. She was great, very bouncy and motivating and I was puffing away. This morning I was off to the gym, followed by aqua. It's a lovely feeling at the end of the gym session when I just lie there for a couple of seconds, feeling drained but with a huge halo over my head. I'm finding when I set my mind to something, determination sets in. I'm determined that this time I'll be there three times a week, and that at the end of the session everything is completed, I'm getting a buzz seeing all the ticks on my program:) Two things I don't enjoy - are the water grinder thingy. It looks easy but it's not! The other are bicep curls - they just about kill me, apart from that it's going ok!
Just a little plug for aqua - Rachel mentioned she hadn't tried it. I know a lot of people judge it as an old lady's exercise, for one our son-in-law until we told him that some rugby and soccer teams use it as well. I would thoroughly recommend it for anyone easing into an exercise program, especially if they hadn't much exercise before. It's really what you make it and you can work as hard as you want or some people do it in a bit of cruisy mode. Even after losing around 28 kilos I felt reasonably toned for a women in her 50's who up until then had never exercised so I'm sure it helped me in that respect. Although no where as fit as what I would like, prior to aqua I was uncapable of even a fairly short walk without a struggle. I also have lower back problems and it would take me a couple of hours in the morning to be able to move freely. ( I call it walking around like you have a broom up your...... ) great now but if I don't go for a few days I start to seize again. But as I've realised I got used to it and needed more so that's why I've started back at the gym.
Better go as I'm helping at WW and I'm going to be late - catch you later

Had to laugh when I seen your photo of the laminator, I knew exactly what and who did it...haha.

Question:
I looked up our local swimming hole and they have sessions on called Hydrorobics (which sounds like your aqua classes) but they have a general and and circuit class??? What's the difference?

I've written down all the times etc and have a plan to do 2 sessions next week....I'll report back.
