A perfect weekend.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter break. What a perfect weekend! Wish to say I was perfect too! I managed to come back from our break without even a taste of an Easter egg, they don't really tempt me! (My treat was a hot cross bun each day,) but then I also over did the nibbles. I used to be able to just ignore food like this but those days seems so far away now. I wish the will power would come back!

After our mad rush on Thursday it was lovely to get down to the beach. We were late and didn't get there until around 8.00pm but quickly unpacked and settled in. Saturday - oops no Friday Chris H sent me a text and there they were. Great to have them visit but Peter had a tide to catch so the visit was brief. Don't know why he bothered really as not a pauas in sight! Was lovely to get to see Chris and Stew's kids as well. LOL they quickly worked out where the toys were! My sister arrived on Friday as well for the weekend. Saturday friends arrived with piles of native plants from their nursery. It was like one of those garden make overs they have on TV - and blow it all my camera was at home! We planted piles of plants, grasses, flaxes etc all in 40 minutes! We can have really harsh conditions, strong winds so fingers crossed they survive. Had a great couple of days with our visitors, the weather was perfect! Just got better and better. My sister and friends are into walking and I was quite fed up my leg wasn't quite up to it! I did get out yesterday but struggled with the walk and wondering really if it was a wise thing to do. Put on my pedometer and did over 10,000 steps for the day, but quite sore now. If I clocked up 10,000 steps our visitors would have done double that if not more. They are mountain goats!

I know I'm not alone here, the past few months despite all my intentions I just can't seem to keep on the wagon for any length of time with food. While I say this, I don't seem to do anything overboard but just carelessness and I don't seem to be able to snap out of it. If I have a couple of not so good days (like over this past weekend) I can quickly get into tracking again and undo the damage, but then of I go once more - so when I weigh, I'm up a kilo, down a kilo. I suppose I should be thankful I'm able to do that but here I am putting in extra work with exercise and I feel I'm letting myself down with food. The past weekend I knew I wasn't going to track, that was my plan and to not worry, treat myself to an Easter bun daily (nice ones bought from a bakery) and just moderation, which I managed to do but I've come back feeling bloated and yuk so really do know I've overdone it. OK so right now I'm thinking fresh start tomorrow but past history will have me only doing this for a couple of days and then slipping back into careless habits. I know some of you may think I'm a bit overboard as I've lost the bulk of what I've had to, where as some of you face a lot more challenges than I do. But I know that getting to the top of the WW goal range will have me feeling and looking better than I do now. I want to do it. I would love to be at the stage where I couldn't catch hold of handfuls of excess fat sitting around my middle! I've had periods where I've really tried, it didn't happen, so then I start mucking around again. The fact is that the periods where I've given it a good shot but not succeeded sort of does point to a drastic change needed. I'm working through one of the books Helena suggested. I'm trying to find what is going to work - for me.

It was an amazing weekend wasn't it! It was soooo lovely to see you at the beach, Castlepoint has got to be one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! Thank you for being so sweet to our children... they loved the time at your gorgeous beach home. Stew was very impressed with the view... I just loved your Porthole in the wall ! Catch up with you next saturday hopefully.

One day you will get to the point Anne where everything will suddenly fall into place and you want goal more than anything! At the moment you have injuries and looking for the change you need....but IT WILL happen...good luck!!

Glad you had a great easter.

Glad to hear you had a great weekend.
I too am reading Helena's bible (which she kindly lent me) and am trying to work out what will work for me too... Good luck and everything will fall in to place for us at the right time.
Take care and have a good week.

What a lovely weekend you sound like you had at the beach house, good friends and family and a yummy easter bun daily.

Don't beat yourself up as you don't do this every weekend and you will be back tracking today.

Wow sounds like you had fun! Don't beat yourself up too hard, like Jen said something will happen that will kickstart your brain into action. I've always said weightloss is 99% headwork 1% bodywork. Get the brain in the right place and the body will follow. In the meantime plod doing the habits you've put in motion already.

Sounds like you had one great weekend. So nice you had the opportunity to get together with everyone. We seem to be on the same wagon. Hope the leg is feeling better.
