Home again
Really enjoyed catching up with the Wellington girls on Saturday. Helena is looking amazing. I reckon she should write a book on how she has got to where she is today! A true transformation!
After the visit Peter and I headed of to the beach. There are about 14 houses in the subdivision where we are, and for the first time ever - we were the only ones staying there. The place was deserted. It seemed strange! Weather was better than what we expected though so got a bit of gardening done and a walk. Even when the weather is rubbish I still love the beach, so rugged and we can experience really extreme weather conditions, from wild and windy to sunny, still and hot, sometimes all in one day! We decided to stay Sunday night and left early morning to come home. Just as well it was deserted as my fitness levels gave out on me on the hill back home. Not a soul about to see me puffing and panting and very hot in a much too warm polar fleece - so I just sat down in the grass on the side of the road and looked out to sea (while getting my breath back!)
We packed light and decided to eat at the pub Saturday night. Shock of our lives when we went in. A couple of weeks before Peter told me that a local man we know from here that we quite often meet also at the beach, well there was his death notice in the paper - but on Saturday there he was in the pub and very much alive! Wrong Graham. He had a laugh when he saw our faces as quite a few people had the same case of mistaken identity. And for once the pub excelled itself with our meals. I asked if they would mind pan frying a piece of fish for me, with salad and no chips (not on the menu) and they did, it weas beautifully presented, fish was fresh and just fell apart, salad was piled high and lots of variety. Peter just had fish and chips but once again, was fresh, presented perfectly and they charged us $20 total for both meals!
Mmmm and I should have seen the writing on the wall!!!! A couple of weeks ago Peter took me along to look at his friend's boat that is for sale. I told him it was his decision, but he doesn't do decisions very easily and kept coming up with reasons for and against. Not being a boatie person I just let him work through it. We left the pub on Saturday night and he said he wanted to watch a video on safe boating?? Then I found out he had bought the boat the day before!!! Don't know why he 'forgot' to mention it! So we are the owners of a aluminium boat and looks as if fresh fish may be on the menu these Summer holidays! You won't get me out on it unless the water is like a mirror!
Food and exercise - slack! Not bad - but not good....

sounds like you had a nice weekend
The beauty of rural pubs....grest food and even greater prices :) You and me both on the boat front. Not sure I'd even go if it was a mill pond LOL. Still the beach watching is as good a place as any to read your book :)
good for you on the exercise and making good eating out decisions. Part of me hopes to keep this job for next year because of the good pay, but part of me hopes to find a new one in Busan for less pay but near the beach. I love the beach.
So a neat weekend at the beach! Cool. Peter a boatie now, woo hooo!!! Hope he does his 'homework' on safety etc, it's a wild coast out your way.
He really must have wanted to have the boat if he finally made the decision then huh... As long as he is safe and wears a life jacket I say go for it... as long as it makes him and you happy.

Hi, you are so prolific but I think I have finally caught up with all the trials and tribulations plus the triumphs that you have been going through over the last few weeks. Mark would like a boat too I think but no where to store it and probably no time to use it. I guess it might be a boy thing.
