Ouch!
Ohhh ouch! When I woke up yesterday I thought the “killer class” hadn’t the same impact on my body this week as the first, then it hit! This time it’s targeted a different group of muscles and is higher into my tummy and abs! A funny kind of ache as it seems really deep in me. So here I am back holding my tummy when I laugh only in a different place to last week! When comparing this class to the gym (not saying one is better than the other, I'm just comparing how I find coping with the the difference in exercise) I found the weights at the gym hard but once you got into the swing of it the reps were hard but achievable, where with this class the instructor is telling us now do this and she demonstrates another move and my mind stops and thinks – can I do that? Some moves take a lot of effort just to get the body moving a couple of inches. Sometimes I just couldn’t – hence the couple of splats when I didn’t make it! So it’s taking a lot more concentration and effort. The moves flow from yoga onto pilates then the swiss ball and back again, lots of variety - here's a little bit from the website for the class.
**** core developed as an alternative to the weights, machines and attitudes that can be found in a gym. Based on creating long lean muscles using the body as a gym the core classes focus in on the abdominals and back muscles while working legs and arms along the way. A blend of gym movements, pilates, yoga the classes vary day to day and week to week so that it is hard to get bored and hard for the muscles to get too used to a certain movement. Just getting the hang of it and along comes Nat to add a variation and wake up those muscles again.
Day one of the lower carbs and a few changes to my food. The more I think of it the more I realise how many carbs I do eat. So only one bit of toast and yoghurt this morning, and no carbs at all tonight. Went shopping yesterday and stocked up on loads of fresh fruit and salad goodies. Aiming for a lot more variety with my fruits. Weekly weigh ins – still going to do them and will update my side bar with the results – but being reasonably close to goal I don’t want to go on anymore about gains and losses, whys, etc….. because I know there will be quite a few ups and downs from here. All I can say is I am trying!! If I rabbit on – slap me!
Yesterday aqua – steps 8,021, ran out of time...
Today - WW weigh in lunch time - office work, walk, Peter has tennis tonight so I will go to aqua.
Catch you all later:)

I do a body balance class that sounds similar - a mixture of pilates, yoga and tai chi but no swiss ball. I love it. Good luck with the no carbs but beware of the carbs in fruits but maybe they are good carbs(?).
Don't worry about the gain Anne. When I first started exercising I went 4 or 5 weeks not losing and had the odd gain. It's just your body adjusting to the changes. Keep at it and then all of a sudden you will see results. You are on the right track just keep going :)
Looking forward to catching up tomorrow. :)
Being so close to goal I wouldn't worry too much about what the scales say. It's more about what your body is telling you and how you "feel" inside.
I know I benefit from cutting out the carbs and it does make me feel heaps better.
I also think aqua is fantastic. Low impact on the body and great for toning.
You're going great Anne. You're doing everything right. Have a great weekend.
It's great how much you're enjoying this new adventure!
