Drum roll!!!! Update below
I can't believe it, just to be sure I weighed in a 2nd time...
I lost!
1.6 kilos!!!!!
I have never, ever lost the amount before!! Not even when I first started. I don't quite understand it, but it did feel good putting on my trousers this morning. for a few weeks they have been a little snug, now they feel great!!! LOL I have had a couple of double takes with the scales at home - thinking that they were maybe broken as they had dropped so dramatically. so maybe lowering my carbs is the thing for me - looks like I'm on the right track. Still having 20 points but quite different food to what I normally would eat. Brings me down to 73.2 - which is only 5.2 from the top of my WW goal. I know now that I can do it!
If you've been reading lately you will know I haven't been feeling myself, I'm dealing with these issues in another blog. But I discovered something today that shocked me and wondering if it is adding to how I've been feeling. I decided today to go to a B0wen therapist. Ages ago I was pushed into having treatment with one for a chronic back problem that no-one else could fix. It worked and one appointment later I was amazed at how good my back felt. Today's appointment was for how I've been feeling lately. Just to see if she could help. She asked me if I ate 'diet' foods, 'diet' drinks - I don't - well so I thought. One additive in these foods is 950 and her word for it was toxic. Then I thought - what about the chewing gum I sometimes have - yep it has that ingredient! Then even worse I discovered the yoghurt I have EVERY morning for breakfast also has additive 950 in it. Help? Is she onto something here, has anyone had reaction to this before, what do you know about it?? I really would appreciate your input here. I spoke to my daughter and she said she had heard that this additive makes kids jittery..... Here I was being so careful, low fat, low GI and then discover this.......
1.6 kilos!!!!!
****************UPDATE***********************
A couple of weeks ago I lowered my carb intake
Soon after I suffered a flare up of anxiety attacks, something I had more or lease in control for years.
I had changed my high carb breakfast to a lower one of yoghurt and fruit. The yoghurt contains Additive 951 Aspartame.
This is just one of the many articles I found - they call it "The Sweet Poison".....
Aspartame is the technical name for the artificial sweetener used in NutraSweet, Ajinomoto, Equal, and many other brands. Aspartame is used in many low calorie foods such as yoghurts, diet beverages, cereals, pharmaceuticals and chewing gum. This supposedly ‘healthy alternative’ to sugar is widely considered as one of the most toxic food additives on the market. There are over 90 documented effects that occur from the consumption of Aspartame. Amongst the known side effects are: headaches, nausea, muscle spasms, depression, insomnia, vision problems, heart palpitations, anxiety attacks and memory loss. It is also believed that Aspartame use can cause and worsen the effects of many chronic illnesses such as brain tumours, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s and diabetes.
The yoghurt is going down the drain!

Wow Anne, that's a fantastic loss, well done.
I have heard about the 950 additive but really havn't paid much attenton to it myself, I migt just look into it. Thanks
WOO HOO. Congratulations. i have no idea what 950 additive is, but I can't read the packaging here in Korea anyway, so I'll worry when I get home.
Great loss Anne! I'm not sure what it is that you are going through at the moment but I hope you feel better soon :)

Well done on the amazing loss!!! Fantastic!!!
I had read about that sweetener, but not about heart palpitations - my problem! I will be checking it out too!
Amazing loss! Congrats to you!!!!
congrats Anne, you must be stoked! Looks like the change in food was just the jolt your body needed :) Aspartame - yep there is a worldwide debate about that stuff. Some say its perfectly ok, others say it hasnt been around long enough for studies to be completed - my thoughts, switch to natural yoghurt and ditch any additives you can :) Especially if the so called "side effects" are one of the health issues you might be suffering from - it cant do any harm eh? *smooch* well done I'm so excited for ya
fantastic loss girl. WELL DONE
there is so much hiding in our foods these days
Woohoo - what a loss! Congrats girl! You have certainly given us all something to think about and research (I knew these holidays could be put to good use). Will check your other blog and be in touch soon. What else did the Bowen Therapist do for you?
Wow, what a great loss - you must feel on top of the world!
The aspartame thing? I'm not convinced by the research either way, so my policy is to avoid it when I can. In fact, I guess that goes for all additives - go natural whole foods whenever possible.
Amazing loss girl....thats just great, bet the grin is still from ear to ear.
The aspartame thing...have heard that, and do know some foods do contain certain "toxins" that do/can effect people....I know many do with my son who has/had adhd.....good luck!!
Congratulations on your weigh in Anne. It is like a weight off your mind - a weight off your body :)
And WOW about 950 & 951 possibly causing all those symptoms. It would be so interesting to see what would happen to your attacks if you did nothing else but cut those additives out..
Good luck - and have a great weekend :)
