Incidental exercise chasing dogs!
Well I'm getting a bit more incidental exercise this week with the arrival our our newly adopted girl dog (Izzy). We live on 40 acres and she is quivering with the excitement of it all! Yesterday both dogs disappeared - I panicked (briefly) then went of to the dam - there they were - would they come back for me - NO!! So down I walked over the fence and bought them back, just got them back and they took of around the side of the office, by the time I got back - they had gone back again!! Back to the dam I go - and once again bring back two dogs. I know they will settle. Chris - she is doing fine!! Last night Peter was going to spend an hour or so with them - back at the dam, throwing in sticks and they retrieve them back. At one stage Peter told the pair of them to stay! They did perfectly, both of them this time quivering with excitement and then it all got too much, Toby took of first with Izzy in quick pursuit and they weren't staying for anyone!! I went of to the pool and got home to find Peter still in the office at 7.30pm... he had been playing with them for a while as hadn't had dinner yet! My main concern is that Izzy isn't aware we have invisible barriers that our dogs don't cross e.g. the front gate. Today it is closed. I know she will soon follow Toby's example. In the meantime I have eyes in the back of my head!
The party we went to in the weekend was fun but a little different. It was a gay couple we know, we went along and there were only four women there and about twenty or so guys - most of them partners. It was a lot of fun - quite often kiwi parties get the segregation thing going, men in one area and women in the other. Not in this case we all sat outside around a huge table and chatted away together. They were a lot of fun. Peter thought the tennis was on and rather than our kids pay the $100 babysitter Peter offered to bring the grandsons back to our place about 9.00pm and then the other parent could go to the party. There was something behind this as Peter thought the tennis was on so he was more than happy to take over baby sitting duties. (lol - no tennis!) Well he must also have been having fun as 9.00pm turned into 10.00pm before he picked up the kids. I was going to taxi home but then decided to call it a night as well. Getting old!
Life is ticking along, I've decided from now on to just record one weigh in a month on my sidebar and will probably weight the last Wednesday of the month. This is just for my record, my weight changes are so little so I'm not expecting comments about 200 grams gone or gained. I'm trying, I'm eating well, and that to me is the main thing. Exercise is a daily session of aqua (yesterday two) and a bit of dog chasing thrown in.
Another little thought - (well not so little thought) I have plans going on in my head. With our changes in work and business coming up, could well be I will job hunt. No way do I want to go back to full time work as I will still have quite a bit to do here. My experience and what I enjoy doing is office administration and as I've manged offices I do have a lot of all around experience. The ideal set up for me is continue to work from home and I've toyed with the idea of seeing what work I could generate helping others with their admin work. Now this morning while getting my nails down the nail tech (who is selling her business) said to me not realising my thoughts that if I had the time why don't I approach the new owner who is not very computer literate to see if I could help.
Just had an invite to go and visit a friend for a toasted sandwich for lunch. The dogs can play in the hay barn while I'm gone where I know they are secure. Sounds funny - they are of for a romp in the hay!

Oh I have HUGE smiles reading about Izzy and Toby having a ball together, I know in my heart she is fine with you! Thank you so much for adopting her, I am sure she is loving her new home and the dam most of all. I hope Toby has stopped 'annoying' her now? !!!
I bet Toby thinks he is in heaven with his new girlfriend. They will be like a couple of little kids in a candy store til they settle.....LOL It was so great that you could have Izzy and I am sure you will have many happy years ahead :)
Nice to hear the dogs are getting along well. Great that everything worked out for the party. Hope you had a lovely lunch.
