Absolutely shambolic!
Absolutely shambolic! This is not the DWTS judge talking here - it is me and ''absolutely shambolic'' sums up my eating for the weekend!! I'm not sure why but I just totally blew it. No excuses. As it's so easy to do I started to beat myself up about it last night. Then I started to think of the positive things I achieved:
Said no to an ice cream on the trip up
Only a little bit of dessert
No chocolate eclairs (everyone was saying they were the best they had tasted)
No birthday cake
No chippies, dips etc
Sounds like I coped well by saying not to the above - but no!! Won't go putting the other list here! I've had a real blow out. I still don't know why I did that but I'm not worried at all - I'm ready for another week!
The weekend was a lot of fun. The trip up and back was a real laugh. Our sister in law is great entertainment and she had a bit planned for the trip! But at 8.00am entertainment was the last thing on our minds, I wanted to curl up in a corner and snooze off. She started out with a microphone and being Lynn of Tawa! Peter had her on and told her he knew we should have gone up on our own! One brother has the reputation of always being late, he's chronic but they fixed him by picking him up on the way. Funny as we are all so different but it all went well. There is something quite special about a large family like Peter's (me being one of only two!). The brother was touched so many of them went to help celebrate. The party was at our nephew's home which is at the Mount. Huge house with a great big indoor outdoor living area. They had a jazz trio playing in the yard and a small marquee up as well. This nephew has five young children and we got a shock to see the new addition aged five months, he could be Fynn's brother (our grandson) right down to the red hair and grin, his build, even the same shape face. Just had to have a cuddle of that little boy! I sent my daughter a text the next day and said this little one was just like Fynn - her text came back - one word - scary! We were a shattered pair when we got home last night. Cheese on toast for dinner and then of to bed.
This week I want to achieve lots. I'm going to get to the gym, also aqua. (Getting a bit of a cold so hoping it doesn't come to much) After having a couple of weekends away I need to get a bit done in the house. Also as it's heading towards month end I aiming to be up to date in the office.
Peter's birthday this coming weekend. Our kids have a surprise for him, they have got him a helicopter ride over the wind mills - it will also go over our farm. They booked the trip last week and despite them telling the firm that it was going to be a birthday surprise, the helicopter firm phoned him here to confirm!! Luckily I answered the phone. We quite often go away for our birthdays for the weekend but I don't think neither of us can really be bothered! The girls both phoned last night to see what we were planning, Deb suggested we could all go to the beach but we have rented it out. May just opt for a family dinner here. Really looking forward to a quiet weekend and it's only Monday!
Family trees - well me and my big mouth I've got the job to type up Peter's. One subject over the weekend was the number of descendants Peter's parents would now have. We did a count and it is now, 11 children, 30 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren (quite a few of the grand children will still have family ahead of them!) The ones at the party all wrote down their individual families and now it has to be put together.... Peter's only comment was I wouldn't fit it on one page. Sort ot realised that!
Off for now:-)
